First finish of 2014: This is Harmony Grace's Baby quilt!
It's made from a charm pack of --was it called 'Dilly, Dally'? I think so.
I started with an idea from a quilt book called Three Times the Charm,
but added on until it is hardly recognizable. The pattern I started with is called Dora.
first, the layout ~ The "faith , hope , love" fabric is for the name background.
To do the name, I choose fonts I like, and have Larry print it as large as needed. We usually choose to only do an outline of the letters, why waste the ink to make them solid black? Then I cut them out, and lay them down in reverse to trace onto the fabric prepared with Heat and Bond lightweight fusible. Cut and iron down onto the background, and I like to sew with the buttonhole stitch on my Bernina.
I quilted with a loop-de-loop this time, fun, easy loops ~
Then came the binding. Finished last night ~
And this dolly is Harmony Grace!
Harmony Grace is the little sister to Steven, remember this quilt?
"...we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved...." Acts 15:11
Don't keep us waiting! Who is Harmony Grace????
ReplyDeleteDo tell!
ReplyDeleteWhat mystery!
Happy Sewing
What a wonderful quilt! I use the same tip about printing only an outline when I print out a large font--I love that you shared it, though, for others. I loved all the photos, too!

ReplyDeleteAw, that is so sweet, Pokey! Thanks for the insight as to how you did the lettering, too. I wish I had a blanket stitch on my vintage Singer. Been thinking of a new (inexpensive) machine just for that one stitch (and a better buttonhole). Anyway, what a cute quilt for the little cutie!
