I was asking a lot of my sweet Larry..."Okay, hold it up off the ground...."
"The light would be better outside, let's try out there...."
"Okay. Could you hold the back up again...?"
"Pokey, do you know how hot it is?"
"Yea, but that time it looked like 'a man hiding behind the curtain shot'."
"That's it. We're done. You have to have a good shot there, somewhere!"
"I love you, Larry." "I love you, too, I held your quilt up, didn't I?"
(I'm grinning) ROFL
He's so good to me ~!
Happy Quilting! Pokey
~Edited to add to Amy's Sew and Tell ~ do go visit the other finishes there!
Our husbands sure have to put up with alot, but then so do we, LOL. Beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt, and your husband is a real trooper. Bless his heart!
ReplyDeleteToo funny but a lovely quilt....
ReplyDeleteAnd your guy even wears a TIE to hold up a quilt! How elegant is that!? What a good sport he is, and what a nice-looking quilt you made. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHe was wearing a tie! No wonder he was hot. Give that man a T-Shirt to wear out in the heat! Ha ha
ReplyDeleteGreat looking quilt.
Great quilt! What would we do without our quilt holders?
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletePatricia
Wonderful quilt! The star blocks and the crazy quilt blocks really compliment each other. I really like the white and blue striped inner border. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks to your husband for holding it up so we could all see it. :-)
Now that's teamwork !
ReplyDeleteGreat job, both of you........and what a wonderful quilt to donate !
That is one big quilt! So cozy looking and patriotic. Your husband looks like my husband would if I asked him to hold up a quilt...so not interested, sheesh! Thanks for commenting on my blog, it's good to be back!
ReplyDeleteThose stars and scrappy blocks are such a great combo! Great quilt!
ReplyDeleteAw, what a sweet guy you have. The quilt is fabulous! Stopping by from Sew&Tell. Thanks for sharing. Happy Sewing! :o)
ReplyDeleteLarri at Seams Inspired
LOL! I haven't asked mine to do any holding up yet because I can just imagine the groaning. Maybe if I show him that all the "cool husbands" are doing it. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that quilt.
I love the quilt and your comments on the pictures were so fun to read. I loved that you showed us your fun personality.
ReplyDeletePokey, that quilt is beautiful. And a celebration of our country. Inspiring! And I love the way you did your label. The back is elegant. Thanks to Mr. Pokey for holding up the quilt so we could see it in the right light. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt! Tell him thanks from all of us!!
ReplyDeleteSuper quilt! And great pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, your fella is so good to you for sure! I'd really have to do some bargaining to get mine to hold up quilts and pose!!! BEAUTIFUL work, deary!!
ReplyDeleteI just adore your American quilt and what a lucky lady you are to have your sweet husband hold your quilt for photo taking. :o)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a nice weekend.
Sincerely ~ Tricia
Hahaha! Sounds familiar!
ReplyDeleteThe first few pics are pretty good -- I don't see any feet. ;)
Love this quilt!
Hilarious! A good man is hard to find!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Quilt! My hubby does the same thing. LOL You gotta love em.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I rigged up a makeshift clothesline in my backyard because my husband is never home when the light is good, and the other people in my house are too short! :)
ReplyDeleteThis makes me laugh! Husbands are such troopers (or in my case, 9 year-old sons)! It is a beautiful quilt! I'm a sucker for anything patriotic. Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt! Love it! Enjoyed reading your post ... too funny!
ReplyDeleteAwwww. What a cute husband! And I love that quilt. So patriotic and fun.
ReplyDeleteI think all of us quilters put our significant others through the "quilt holder" job at one time or another. Loved this post! It sounds all too familiar and I too hope to have at least one good shot!
ReplyDeleteI put my DH through all that too...so funny. Your quilt is super! Great job.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is wonderful! What we won't go through to get the perfect picture - and some of us are lucky enough to have hubbies that will go though it with us!
ReplyDeleteHi, Pokey: Nice to see you have a "hero" too!
ReplyDeleteI really like the quilt! Way to go Mr Davis! I would've definitely chickened out. :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful quilt .... and a great holder upper!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post, Pokey! Beautiful quilt too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me and the super nice comment. :)
love your quilt!!! the colors and design go so well together
ReplyDeleteI just love this quilt. I am sucker for the red white and blue. It is just beautiful. I love how much we abuse our husbands with this quilting stuff and they just tolerate it because they love us so much.
ReplyDeleteKevin and I have been off work the last week and his parents are leaving from visiting us today but tomorrow I have a job for him to start! He is building me a quilting design wall. He is more than willing to help me and that is just how it is. They love us and make us happy doing what we love to do. You husband just seems so happy to help you! Steph
I can't believe I missed this post in August. What a great quilt and a great husband for working so willingly to help you get the picture just right.
ReplyDeletehahaha, this made me laugh =)
