Hexagon Quiltalong Completed!!

Quilted "love". . . can you see it?

I'm glad to have accomplished my goal. This one is a happy quilt!

It's quilted, but I haven't washed it yet.

I drew a lot of hearts, too. This is one of my favorites!

I have reached several goals with this quilt, actually:

• This was from the "too good to cut" fabrics, my first jelly roll purchase and I kept putting off even opening it~!
• It was also on my "ten finishes for 2010" list, check!
• It is completed in time for our trip, and to give to the folks~ that's the best thing!

So, I'm a happy girl! I hope you all are feeling good about your sewing and creative crafting, too. It sure feeds the soul.

Now, to find and add the binding. Did I mention this is the gift we are giving at the folk's 50th Anniversary this Saturday, after school is out, after we drive 1,500 miles? I'm glad it's completed this far!

While this one isn't quite finished yet, I wanted to share a bit....

Monday at school, we have Field Day. Expecting temps in the 90's. I'm stationed at a game with water balloons, that should be fun!

Monday night, quilt class. I'm hoping to have this one quilted before then. Here it is now:

Tuesday, it's our end of the year field trip and swim party, with life guards and a water slide, and just our class. The students really enjoy this day!

Then, it's home to pack for our trip to Nebraska, and hopefully a good night's sleep.

Wednesday, it's awards day, and shopping in the class store with their earned Davis Dollars, and school is out at noon. Whew!

Home, grab our bags and go. Sorry I've been absent, but I'll return soon. Hopefully with photos!

Ya know, I love summer!!

Hi!

Since I didn't have a blog of my own last year this time, I didn't realize how hard it is to stop and just say "Hi''! So,

I have 17 more days of school

My quilting class is over for the semester

We keep meeting anyway through the summer, YEA!!!

I'm sewing in little spurts, but NOT because I don't have the desire to!!



Blue is still on the frame, I'm working on this for a gift on the 20th...

It's here! You don't know how hard it was to find "it", course, part of it was shopping around for a good price, and then trying to get one available...

On the First Day

It's Sunday, the first day of the new week. The l-o-n-g-e-s-t--- week -of -school is over!
I'm glad that:

• every student in my class was represented on Open House night!
• every student had their own lighthouse made at home, and brought in for the week.
  
• we had ten little chicks hatch and peeping away
• almost every bean plant sprouted for the kids
• we survived jogathon in the 80 degree heat, summer's coming
• huh?
  
• oh, yeah, summer's coming!

In other Davis household news:

• the insurance company "totaled" the car
• we "bought" it back (crazy, it's ours, but we had to pay to keep it)
• we now call it the creepy car, but it's drivable still
• (with a screwdriver instead of a key, lol)
• Larry has extra work to help with those ever-widening ends (the ones you try to make meet)
• more blessings: sweet words of encouragement from you out there, thank you!
  

On the creative front:

• helping with Ginny's first quilt-so cute!
• went to the TLC Guild Quilt show yesterday and enjoyed the talent showcased there
• measured the quilt for its borders ( I feel so slow!)
• cut the first border, pinning it on today-!
  
• still waiting on the ruler
  
• cut more black and white for the floral prints (hexagon quiltalong)

I'm in!

I'm waiting on my ruler for the hexagon quiltalong, and sewing on those blue borders today. Oh, and on these strips...

I'm thinking of using these florals, too, for a second one. Why not? *smile*
