What's on the Frame, Etc.

the latest fiddling project: messing around with one inch (finished) squares

On the quilt frame now:

This pattern is makin' the rounds in our quilt class. The above quilt on the frame is Debbie's, a friend in class, and it is the second time for her to use the pattern ~

since Ginny's was finished in September! (This one is Ginny's)

Debbie's quilt is a Christmas present for her sister, and since I have a three day weekend, I'm finding time to quilt it!

These little guys are blocks that have me fiddling with the small stuff again...what can I say? It's been fun to be able to sit for a few minutes at the end of a long workday and put one together. What will they become? I'm not sure yet . . . probably a table runner....

Find some time to create this weekend. Give thanks for all we have, and hug a Veteran!

"Trust in the LORD, and do good; Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass."   Psalm 37:3-5

  2. Love the new blocks you are making! And the previous post of spool blocks. I've made bags of them like around 600. Someday they will be a quilt.

  3. One inch squares - that's just crazy talk! I'd never even attempt something that fiddly. You may inspire me though because they look so sweet all finished.

Happy quilting. I managed to get nothing done yesterday so Im making a big run at productivity today!

  5. Glad to see your post. You are doing such a great job of just keeping on and having things to show for it. I'm not there. I'm not even getting time to read my favorite blogs. Interesting how life changes.

  8. I love those little blocks! Little blocks are my comfort zone.
I got to hug a Marine vet last night, and I'll talk to a few more tomorrow after the parade through town. I won't get to hug my own Marine until December!

  14. Love all the scrappiness! I need to start working on my scraps. It doesn't look like much is there but they never seem to dwindle even after I make a scrap quilt.

  19. Those are some small pieces in your wonderful blocks. Love the low volume fabric in the background with the darker squares forming the design. I have seen quilts make up of this block pattern. They make up so nice. The blocks will be a wonderful table runner.

  20. Sure like your blocks, Pokey! I have a pile of 1-1/2" pieces that I put together into 16-patch blocks. I've been doing that for more than a year now, as the mood strikes, or when I need leaders/enders on another project. I anticipate having some fun trying to figure out what to do with them, when I'm able to get some time in the sewing room that doesn't involve "obligation sewing." I have too much of that!
