This Tuesday

So guess what happened today? Our 1993 Toyota Camry was stolen
out of our driveway. WHY? 267,000 miles, paint peeling, OLD car.
The police in the neighboring city found it, called us and had it
towed costing us $220, and we couldn't drive it because the thieves
had "popped" the ignition on it. Now insurance is involved, we have a
$250 deductible, and if it is considered totaled, we will get a check
for what the old car is worth. OLD. We just need the car. And, they took
e v e r y t h i n g that was in the car, including about 30
Christian CD'S-!!, and- our garage door opener. . . .
I've spent this WHOLE day on being a victim twice over, and looking for
God's plan in the issue. I know He has one. :-}

"I will call upon the LORD, [who is worthy] to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.
He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me."
Psalm 18

Isn't it amazing, He delights in us?

Have a Good evening,
Pokey

  4. I'm so sorry, but really, stealing Christian music, how ironic is that?

  5. I'm truly sorry on your loss. My husbands very old rabbit (car) was stolen. Situation was very similar to yours. Even though the cars are old, when they are reliable it isn't fun to spend $$$ to fix them up, when they are returned damaged or to have to buy another car. Not fun at all. So sorry it happened to you!

  7. That is a horrible thing! Shall we pray that they listen to the CD's before selling them and see the light?

    Hope your week gets better!

  8. There has to be a good reason for this. I will pray that God will use this for His purposes. I guess the way we see things it just doesn't make sense. Glad we can trust Him. Love ya,

  13. Oh Pokey, I came over to visit from Jocelyn's blog (you left a comment on her blog hopping post), only to find this bad news! I am so sorry for you and your family - we've had this happen to us too, a long time ago, but one does not forget that feeling of horror when you come outside to find your car gone.
You do have the right attitude though, and I'm going to keep reading your blog, as I can already see some nice eye candy!

  15. Pokey, I'm so sorry this happened to you. You're doing exactly the right thing. Lean on God and trust him. You might never see God's plan as it involves this horrible incident. But God can work with any material. Saying a prayer for you, Pokey.

  16. I'm so sorry your car was stolen. Remember good things come out of something bad. My husbands car was stolen once, thankfully the insurance repaired it, but not without that deductible. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
