Yes, it's the inspiration bug that bit me.

I thought and thought about Tina's "Low Volume, Bright Hopes" block until I just had to try it.
Sophie added the information that explained the how to's (thank you, Sophie!)
I think it became an obsession (you know what I mean, don't you?) to try this one because I was so busy with school stuff (report cards again) that I could never find the time to just sit down and try it.

Easter break began on Good Friday before I could be sitting at the sewing machine.
I'm trying to show the 80 blocks in a stack, but I already had begun to sew....
looking down on the stack
one strip
then, another ~
now, 4 rows!
There are now 2 flimsy tops, ready for the next baby gift needed ~
But, Wait! Lookie what hooked me in now:

"Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart" Psalm 37:4
You are inspired! Beautiful low volume blocks! I love the center pops of color!
ReplyDeleteGreat job of low volume/bright pop piecing. I'm glad your are getting something stitching in--I tell myself everyday that I'll get some done, but I don't.
ReplyDeleteI do LOVE that low volume design!!! This blogging world is so full of inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWow! You've been very productive during your break!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea.......and I love a scrappy quilt!
ReplyDeleteBoth ideas are wonderful -- so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteIt is an addiction that we share...😉
ReplyDeleteLaughing over here...you sound just like me...cannot help but get bitten by the inspiration bug! Your work looks great, as always. Easter Blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteNice blocks .. might have to try them myself.
ReplyDeleteI love the low volume blocks. Great job!
ReplyDeleteLovely fabrics. These tops look great. What a wonderful bug to have!
ReplyDeleteWe can all relate! That's why we share, to make other quilters as crazed as we are!
ReplyDeleteOh yes!! Keep the inspiration coming. I do love your low volume, bright hopes for sure. Fantastic!!!!
ReplyDeleteI also get "inspired" but sometimes that inspiration just sits there for a long time. I have a file in my sewing room with "quilts I want to make". Eventually they hit the file of "quilts I HAVE to make". Some of them even get left behind. The other day I went to sew a backing together and could hardly find my sewing table. So I spent an hour just tossing out, folding up, trimming off, putting away and dreaming of my next quilt. Never did get the backing made. Maybe today. Your inspiration ended with a darling little quilt top.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that insect...er, bug...eh Muse or something! I saw that low volume quilt too and fell in love, but fortunately, I had a vaccination of other unfinished projects to protect me...bit I love yours! Beautiful! He is risen!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Isn't it funny how that bug tends to hang around for a while when he comes to visit? I love it!!! Your low volume blocks quilt is too darn cute!!!
ReplyDeleteYour Inspiration Quilt, Bright Hope, is coming along great. Isn't it fun when somethings comes along and inspires you? I like that last inspiration quilt, too!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, everything looks terrific.....what fun!
ReplyDeleteHow are those little houses coming along?
These square within a square would look so cute in the same quilt with
the houses!
I can't wait to get my sewing room set up when I get home.
Happy Sewing
