Poppin' in to say hi, and share the catch up sewing done here this week. I think this will be the year of the house quilts for me! I joined in with Terry's Houses Quilt Along, and finished January's on time.

This was a block that I paper pieced. I saw it and worked it out in my head until the puzzle was solved. Do you do that? Anyway, last time I showed it in pieces,
The Davis household has been suffering with the flu. From Larry, to me and now Lydia. We are crossing our fingers that Jeff and Jerry make it through unscathed...but I'm home with a couple of sick days. Maybe there will be more sewing, and maybe I can catch up on reading blogs. ttfn ~
"My son, forget not My law; but let thine heart keep My commandments: for length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee." Proverbs 3:1,2
I'm loving your little houses, and the background fabrics that you're using! I hope you are feeling better - don't go back to work too soon, now, you hear? Sometimes one extra day to recuperate is just what the doctor ordered (or at least that's what I tell myself while the whir of the sewing machine soothes my tired mind and body :-)
ReplyDeleteHey Pokey...sorry you are all being sick. Enjoy your days off. Hope you feel better soon. In the meantime, I am loving your little houses...and that block is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteIm still adoring your houses and am seriously thinking about making some of my own. They're going to look so cute in a quilt!
ReplyDeleteHope you all feel a lot better fast ...
I love house blocks/quilts.... and your blocks look great!
ReplyDeleteOkay... a big admission on my part. I've never liked house blocks. But the color in yours makes these wonderful! I truly like them. And your paper-pieced block is great too. How DID you figure it out?! I know your blog-reading therapy is working from my perspective. I loved hearing from you. Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better......no fun being sick!
ReplyDeleteLove the houses, you are building quite the adorable little
neighborhood, what a great job.
Happy sewing and take good care of yourself.
Those houses are sweet! Sorry to hear the flu bug has bitten. Get well soon. Your block is really cool, especially with that fabric. Nice color/pattern, and it gives it the illusion of movement.
ReplyDeleteLove your houses! Great job.
ReplyDeleteA sick house is not a fun house. Hope everyone recovers soon. Love all your houses. And yes, just today I worked out a paper piecing design in EQ7 that I just had to have. :)
ReplyDeleteYour houses are just wonderful and those other blocks...I truly love the color in those.
ReplyDeleteYour houses are looking good! And I love that blue block too! :0)
ReplyDeleteI am impressed you could figure out the block!
ReplyDeleteHope you recover real soon that the "bug" goes away!!!

ReplyDeleteSo nice to hear from you, Pokey. I love love love those blue blocks!
ReplyDeleteLove your bright and cherry houses. Flu,yuck. Get better soon!
ReplyDeleteLove your house blocks...I've been wanted to do some of those.....one day :)
ReplyDeleteHi there! Wow, you sure are doing a super job on these houses!!! Love each one!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better by now. I know it's hard for teachers to stay home when sick, because it's just so much extra work to pick up from the sub when you get back.
Cute, cute houses! Sorry you all have the flu. Hope everyone is better now and the healthy ones missed the bug.
ReplyDeleteOh YAY, little houses! This is going to be so fun for me to follow along, I LOVE them so far Pokey!! SO cute! Ooooh, love that black and aqua together! Wow, that's pretty and bright!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you've had a sickly household. I hope all is better by now and you are all getting back to normal.
Have a terrific week~
That's a pretty little blue paper pieced block! What are you going to do with it?
ReplyDeleteGot here late--seems like I go for days without being able to catch up on my blog reading and then find out it was even longer than I thought. I hope by now, all of you are well and chipper again!
I hope you are feeling better now.
ReplyDeleteThese houses are just so darn cute!
Sweet little houses! Hope you are over your flu now and stitching a bit more :)
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better now! Those houses are so cute! The print fabric in your paper pieced block really pops.
ReplyDeleteYour house blocks are adorable! I have a house quilt in progress too. http://joanieinnc-quiltershaven.blogspot.com/p/works-in-progress.html Here's the link if you want to check it out. Anyways I love your fabric color and choices. The pattern you are using looks much easier than the one I am using. It has "Y" seams.
ReplyDeleteI love the little houses that will be in your quilt village! The dark roofs stand out so wonderfully well with the little abodes of many colors. Will keep an eye out for additional new blocks. So pretty, Pokey!
ReplyDeleteI just love your houses. Hope all is well. Wishing you a Happy Easter.
