One More Finish for August

Good Morning! Lookie what was completed today ~

Unfortunately, not without a pleat or two, as I mentioned the bias trouble here.

But overall, a nice lookin' quilt.

I have considered doing a Friendship Braid myself,

but I'm thinking twice on it now,  *vbs*

I have two more shares from the summer. One is a couple days of playing with the Accuquilt cutter produced this vintage tumblers quilt top, waiting for its turn to get sewn...patience....

The other is progress on my enlarged cakestand squares from The Temecula Quilt Company July project this summer.

I sat and fussy-cut these little cornerstones,

only to decide I liked the yellow cornerstones better. BTW, I have this quilt top rolled up in a beach towel, so I can put it away easily between the long spaced sewing times. Larry said he wants the towel back, lol I guess I'd better work on this quilt top next ~

Happy Quilting!

  3. A braid quilt would sure be a good way to use up some of my scraps. Always looking for ideas. Maybe some day I'll actually use one of those ideas! It is a beauty. Nice to have a Tumbler quilt all cut out and ready to sew. I too like the yellow corner stones best on your quilt. Hope the transition back to school has been an easy one. Before we know it we will be in the Christmas rush.

The baskets look great. I like the yellow cornerstones better too. That will make such a nice finish.

  6. Wow! You have been quite productive! The braid quilt came out great! Did you sing "You Can Quilt It Out" while quilting it? Your cake stand is coming along quite well. I was looking at the first picture and wondered how you sewed those fussy cut pieces with the wonky sashing until I realize you hadn't sewn but laid out. Great idea using a towel to keep it all together. I will have to remember to do that. Might with the one I am working on now. Oh how fun to have an Accuquilter!
