Let's Meet a New Friend!

I did my first "from the blogs" quilt this summer following Comfortstitching's Aneela through her half-hexagon tutorial. (See my header? That's the quilt I made.) She was such an encourager, and I started my Flickr pictures to be part of her 'pool'. Does any of this sound confusing to you? Well, some of it still amazes me, too :-} !
So, a few other projects later, and an attempt to contact Karen of Sew Many Ways, and --here you are, at Pokey's place!
And, so, (yes, I am always telling my second graders not to start their sentences with 'and'!) when Aneela introduced Jenny's brand new blog, Cut. Sew. Iron. Repeat, I said self, we are going to welcome the new kid. And get this, she's having a giveaway.
Go welcome her to the neighborhood!
Happy Quilting, Pokey

  2. Pokey, I am laughing. Your entry mentions teaching those darling 2nd graders to not use 'and' at the beginning of a sentence, and it is one of my favorite ways to use that three-letter friend. I have been published in some magazines, and am very careful to watch grammar's p's and q's, but in my blog, I let loose. Anyhoo... I noticed in your header that your points are so nicely matched! Have you quilted for long? Your header is beautiful!

  3. Oops, rats! I signed in with an old email address, not even paying attention. The above 'cordy' is me, an encourager, so you know. :) Oh, your salad dressing sounds delish!
